10 general rules to make money with slayer. There are other ways, to both make money and save it, but these should help any Slayer who’s not sure how to make income with the skill.

1. The first, general rule of Slayer is to pick up everything worth something. This does not include items which are steel and below, mithril axes or any mithril item which alchs for less than 400gp, then, pick up everything which stacks, it’s not going to hurt unless you need to eat to pick it up, right?

2. Always pick up your coins. Coins are dropped by almost every monster you’ll be slaying, and together the coin drops can add up to 1-75k a day, depending on what you’ve been killing. Sure, it’s not much, but coins stack – and will pay for your trips back to shilo, repairing barrows etc. Don’t disregard coin drops unless the monster you’re fighting drops them infrequently and/or only in stacks of 40(ish).

3. Bring high alch runes to your slayer tasks, but only if they drop mithril items and above. Again, this will increase the amount of cash you bring back from your slayer tasks, very important.

4. Something I like to do is let my rune items stack until I need the money. That way, I might be able to sell certain peices for more than the alching price when players want to buy, for example, a rune scimmy, or full helm for a clue scroll.

5. Chaos and death runes should be sold to the rune shop in the Tzhaar, and then you should buy an onyx stone with karamja gloves on. Then, get a friend to craft the onyx stone into an Amulet of Fury, which you should then sell. This, in effect, makes you between 800k and 100k. The overall profit of this is very likely to be closer towards the 800k mark though, as you -will- be getting a lot more chaos rune drops than you would deaths. Of course, this only works if you have friends with high level magic and crafting.

6. Herbs and herb seeds – Pick these up! Especially the seeds, as they stack. You could then either grow them between slayer tasks or trade them with a farmer to get more herbs. Not only will this benefit your herblore level, it will also, eventually, give you another form of profit – super sets, prayer potions and super stat restores, and although it’s technically not slayer making you this money – slayer got you there.

7. Pure essence is also a good money-maker. It can and probably will look like junk to you, when you pick up 13 from a banshee. However it will, much like everything else, stack up into excess of 10,000. That’s up to 700k for free, is it not worth picking it up, it’s only one space. ;-)

8. Clue scrolls – This should be obvious, but don’t get carried away, where-as clue scrolls -are- good for money, and -can- make you instantly rich (like myself), clue scrolls should always be seen as “a crap reward”. I always wait until the end of a task, or trip, to do a clue scroll. But I’m training slayer, primarily, not making money.

9. Keep an eye on the market. If there are ten people trying to sell an abyssal whip, then you’re not going to get as much money as you would when you’re the only one trying to sell. Keep your drops in the bank, wait until a less busy time and sell later on. It could make a lot of difference.

10. Be patient! Slayer is not herblore. Rare drops are expensive because they are rare!! It will take time for you to make money from it, learn which monsters are best for drops and experience and you will be rolling in it.
